Pigeon lesson.

You probably  haven't heard of pigeon lessons. That is because they don't really exist. Our one happened in the middle of a maths lesson. We were doing Coordinates and discussing something quite calmly. Then it all happened. A pigeon had come in through our open window. It was happily perched on some books virtually oblivious to the fact that virtually everyone was screaming. Our brave maths teacher went to open the other window when the pigeon just flew out the way it had come in.

What an exciting maths lesson!

The game of Life

This is really cool if you make your own designs.

http://www.math.com/students/wonders/life/life.html

To play click Play.

The rules are;

*If a dead cell is surrounded by 3 live cells it becomes live.

*If a live cell is surrounded by 2 or three live cells it stays live.

* If a cell is surrounded by 1/2 cells it dies  and it dies if it surrounded by too many cells. i.e. 4+

These mak more sense when you have played

To make your own which I suggest:

Click Play Life

It will come up with a gridded window. There is  control pad at the top.

Click(double/single) clear and then the grid will be blank you can then design your own.

When you have finished designing click go this will 'animate' you design.

When designing remember the rules or it won't work!

Have Fun!

Stir-Fry Fire

At CLSG, Thursday 21 February the stir-fry started smoking and the fire-alam went off at approximately  2:25 p.m. so most people were  still eating lunch. We went and stood outside and by 2:30 we were all outside reception and the fire-engine came and right through the pedestrian only part right up outside the school with its siren going. Everyone cheered and clapped the about 5 fire-men went running  up the steps in there brown uniform and yellow hard hats. About 5 minutes later they all came running out again and again everyone cheered and clapped. When we went back in and back to our lunch the fire-men had successfully stopped the stir-fry from smoking.

It was all very exciting.
