Mamma Mia

I went to see Mamma Mia at the theatre on Saturday. It was amazing.

The story is set on a Greek desert Island where Donna and her daughter run a holiday hotel. Sophie is just about to get married and so she invites the three mentwho could be her fathe to the party. Donna is thrown back into the past. this great musical accompanied by top-hits like Dancing Queen, Mama Mia and Moneey, money, money.

It is the ultimate feel good story.

Beadlings

Beadlings are small animals or humans made of wire and beads. They are fun to make and they can be onamental toppings or given as gifts. They are excellent to make during holidays and weekends.

Here are some of the ones I have made so far

I am hoping to make a video of how to make a butterfly which you can find on youtube soon under the keywords: beadlings back forth technique wire beadsyoutube.com

Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef

On Monday I went to the Hayward gallery and saw an exhibition of crotcheted coral, designed to help bring awareness to the fast vanishing Australian coral reefs. Some pieces were incredibly lifelike and beautiful.

Two examples ofthe delicacy of some of the pieces in the exhibition

All were lovely, imaginitive. The whole exhibition had a hue rang in colour from right pinks and oranges to whites to darker colours. The great thing about the exhibition was how imaginitive it was.The coral had not just been crocheted out of wool but different materials such as:

Recycled materials

Beads

The other imaginitive thing was the layout, the exhibits were not simply in glass cases in corners, most of them, excluding two, there was no glass covering but there were many wall exhibits and event a few ceiling ones.

It was an amazing exhibition and I strongly recomend it.
